There are an estimated 4.2m lone wokers in the UK with specific risk of physical attack, verbal abuse, or 'man down'. In the NHS over 220,000 staff are community based and alone. There were 54,758 reported incidents of physical assault in the UK in 2008/09. Source: NHS Security Management Service Our Lone Worker protection service has been developed to provide an emergency SOS alarm service for Lone Workers who are at risk of attack or accident. At the heart of the solution is a GPS/GSM mobile device with an SOS button. The device constantly reports its location to an Alarm Receiving Centre ( ARC ). Staff at the ARC monitor the alarms from the devices and initiate the appropriate response when necessary. |
